STRAT Tower in Las Vegas: observation deck from €23.21 – and why the ticket with rides is often the better choice
Updated September 11, 2026 · 5 min read
Among the Las Vegas tickets we source from GetYourGuide, the STRAT observation deck ticket has the ninth-most reviews: 1,684, averaging 4.5 stars. It costs from €23.21 per person. That places it between the High Roller from €18.43 and the Eiffel Tower platform at Paris Las Vegas from €25.54.
The booking page promises a 360-degree view across the valley. It does not say that the ticket with rides costs barely more, that drinks up top are expensive, or that the view can be blocked on some evenings. That is what this is about.
What you are actually buying
The STRAT is the tower at the north end of the Strip. According to the operator, it is 1,149 feet tall, about 350 metres, and the tallest freestanding observation tower west of the Mississippi. The deck, though, is not at the top. According to the operator’s booking pages, spectators watch the SkyJump from the observation deck on the 108th floor, and that jump starts at 829 feet, about 253 metres.
The ticket covers both the indoor and outdoor decks. Indoors, it is enclosed and air-conditioned, with floor-to-ceiling glass. Outside, you are in the open air and can zoom into the city through telescopes. The ticket is valid for one day, so you can decide for yourself whether to go up at midday or in the evening. You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours beforehand.
Food and drinks are not included. There is a bar up top, and it is not cheap: one guest mentions $15 for two bottles of water. Others praise the bartender and having a drink “above the world”. Both can be true on the same evening.
There is a security check before the lift. According to the booking page, every guest passes through a metal detector, and all bags are searched. Anyone carrying a pacemaker or other metal medical device should tell security staff beforehand. The booking page describes the attraction as wheelchair-accessible. Have the details confirmed by the operator before your visit.
Day or evening?
The operator recommends the time around sunset: first the colours in the sky, then the city lights. It can get correspondingly busy then. One couple writes that in the evening it was barely enjoyable because of the queues and the crowds, whereas during the day it was ideal, just not the same thing. Another guest went up late in the evening and found it quiet enough for a good view.
If you are only going up once: go an hour before sunset so you get both day and night in one visit, and allow time for queues.
One warning that appears on no booking page: in May 2026, a group writes that because of a large event, they could not see the Strip or anything else of the view from indoors. In January 2026, a guest writes that with the ticket they had bought, the top level was not accessible. The booking page only mentions the indoor and outdoor decks in general terms. If a particular evening matters to you, check with the STRAT beforehand whether anything is planned up top.
The ticket with rides costs barely more
This is easy to miss on the booking page: the rides on the tower are available from €29.24, around six euros more than the deck alone. According to the booking page, that includes access to the observation deck, plus, depending on the option, one or two rides on the Big Shot or the X-Scream.
According to the operator, the Big Shot shoots you up the mast from a platform at 921 feet, about 281 metres, travelling 160 feet, roughly 49 metres, in seconds. The X-Scream tips a car over the edge of the tower at 866 feet, about 264 metres. So if you are going up anyway and do not mind the ride, the thrill only costs a small surcharge.
Two caveats come with this. The rides ticket has only 4.1 stars from 506 reviews. Two guests write that one of the two rides was closed. In stormy weather, a ride can be shut down entirely. One guest reports being offered the next day or a refund in that case. And children are subject to their own rules: the Big Shot requires a height of 48 inches, about 122 centimetres, and minors do not ride unaccompanied. Details are in Las Vegas with kids aged 6 to 12 and Las Vegas with teenagers.
For those wanting more: the SkyJump, a secured rope jump from the 108th floor, costs from €124.87 and is available from age 14.
Who the deck is not for
Anyone expecting a value-for-money miracle. In the value-for-money rating, the deck ticket only reaches 4.1. Critical voices call the view “nothing special” or describe the tower as dated.
Anyone staying in the middle of the action with little time. The STRAT stands at the north end of the Strip, away from the big resorts around Bellagio and Caesars Palace. The trip there and back is part of the visit.
Anyone who does not cope well with heights. The indoor deck has floor-to-ceiling glass, and one guest found the lift on the way up “a bit wobbly”. Anyone with issues with heights is better off in the High Roller with its enclosed capsule.
One note on buying: a guest wrote in 2023 that tickets were cheaper on site. That is a single report from three years ago. Compare the current price before you buy. And bring ID: another guest reports being asked for ID when paying by card.

The High Roller is the calmest and cheapest choice, and the view shifts on its own as the wheel slowly turns. The Eiffel Tower stands right among the big resorts. The STRAT is the tallest of the three and is worth it above all if you add the rides.
All three tend to replace one another rather than being booked one after another. If you would rather be in the air in the evening, take a look at the Las Vegas Strip night helicopter flight. You will find more tickets among the things to do in Las Vegas and the adrenaline adventures.
